Trek to Ramadevara betta, Kyatsandra, Tumkur

Ramadevara betta is on the stretch which goes to Tumkur. This is 64kms from Hebbal junction, and takes about 90 minutes to reach. It's a toll free stretch if you are on a two wheeler. Enroute, you would pass by Dobaspet/Dabaspete, then after 15kms you need take a right turn and head towards Kyatsandra railway station. From here, its just 10 minutes walk to the base of the hill. We started on my bike at 09:45 from Hebbal with my partner in crime whose a travel/trekking junkie. Since we were already late and had some catching up to do, we drove at break neck speeds of 80-100KMPH :P. With such super sonic speeds we were able to catch up with our new friends at Kyatsandra railway station at around 11AM. They had started out on their journey in a train from Majestic (Sangolli Rayanna railway station) to Kyatsandra railway station. BIKE RIDE: BANGALORE - YERCAUD - BANGALORE

Day 1: We started off early in the morning at 6 AM from our homes, 4 bikes all cleaned up(serviced) and looking pristine. The first stoppage was at the toll gate near Electronic city elevated flyover. This was going to be the only place where we had to pay a toll, the rest of the places we could bypass the toll gates since it was free for two wheelers. Stopped for breakfast at around 8 AM after Hosur. The roads were amazing, with no diversions for road work. Each junction/intersection had a bridge so we could avoid all the traffic beneath. Pothole free for most of the ride and for somebody who is used to driving around Bangalore which is a heaven for potholes, the ride was fabulous. We reached Salem at around 10:30 AM and had to go through the city to reach Yercaud. Once you reach the city, head onto Sharada college road and from there the road reaches the bottom of the hill.
